The Gold Mining Camp Museum at Monroe Park is the only museum in Virginia solely dedicated to the history of gold and gold mining. Monroe Park, located off Route 17 in Goldvein, Virginia, is a wonderful place to learn about local history, relax, and get together with family and friends with its many recreational facilities.
Come visit the museum and learn about the gold mining industry in Fauquier County. Explore the Mess Hall, Assay Office and Bunk House, outfitted as they would have been in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Take a step back to over 80 years ago and learn about a long forgotten part of Virginia history!
